1944 Cuban Champion Havana Lions Salvador Hernandez Jersey

Worn by the cult player Salvador Hernandez, one of the most underrated athletes in Cuban baseball history. The ultimate symbol of the Cuban Game, jersey in gray wool is adorned with red flannel sleeves and bold Havana "H" on front from this championship year. Sports "Mundial Sport " tag in the collar. His fabled number "25" in red cloth framed in white felt is on the verso. Piece de resistance is the Havana Lions head patch on the sleeve. Most importantly, this comes with an 8x10" vintage photograph of Salvador Hernandez wearing this exact jersey. This came directly from the family of Salvador Hernandez, the catcher for the Chicago Cubs, a player-manager for two decades in Cuba, Mexico and the U.S. minor leagues.
