1944 Turk Broda War Letter to Hap Day with Extras
Three-page handwritten letter from goaltending great Walter Broda to his friend and coach Hap Day. Great hockey content as Broda laments his longing to be back with the Leafs and with mention of Conn Smyth. Dated Oct, 31, 1944 and signed “Turk”. Comes with a two-page copy of Happy’s typed reply and a torn return address from the original envelope including a rare and unique “Gnr. W. S. Broda” signature. A poignant piece of war-time correspondence between two of Toronto’s hockey heroes.
