1946 Battle of Alcatraz Original Negatives (8 pieces)
(8) Negatives of one of the most famous of the Alcatraz "escapes." Six inmates were able to overpower cellhouse officers and gain access to weapons and keys taking control of the cellhouse. When the plan failed instead of giving up, they decided to fight it out. Three were killed and the Marines were brought in to restore order. These are from the trial of inmates Clarence Carnes, Sam Shockley, and Tex Thompson. These are form the courthouse, at the trial and being transported from Alcatraz Island. 4x5". EX-MT.
