Later that year, he would receive the cancer diagnosis that would ultimately claim his life, and earlier in the year he had made one final, last-ditch effort to get a job with the Yankees but was rebuffed by Larry MacPhail. This ball, signed by the 1946 Detroit Tigers team, features a litany of other stars, but none compare to Ruth, whose signature is the boldest on the ball and rates 8.0. In all, 29 signatures appear, including Joe Gordon, George Kell, Bucky Harris, Bob Lemon, Hal Newhouser, Hoot Evers, Dizzy Trout, Fred Hutchinson, Allie Reynolds and more. The OAL (Harridge) ball rates 3.0 while the signatures are 6.0. Comes with PSA LOA.
