1948 "The Babe Ruth Story" Chesterfield Advertising Sign (21x22")
Nostalgic image of William Bendix as Babe Ruth, posing with bat in hand and a cigarette hanging from his lips. Sign used to advertise both the Allied Artists motion picture, "The Babe Ruth Story" as well as Chesterfield cigarettes. Never again in America will such an image of a sports hero using tobacco be permitted. "Chesterfields make a hit with me - <u>They're Milder</u>" proclaims the smiling poster boy. Some light foxing and creasing to edges, but quite an opportunity. VG. Much tougher and more attractive than the larger version, this is a perfect accompaniement to your Gil Hodges, Stan Musial and (hopefully) Willie Mays.
