1949 Bud Wilkinson Coach of the Year Award Plaque
Legendary U of Oklahoma football coach Bud Wilkinson received this bronze casting on wood plaque in honor of winning Scripp-Howard Newspapers' Coach of the Year. This beautifully mounted piece is in wonderful EX condition and features a football at its bottom center, with chain decoration around the sides. At the top, an image of a coach with his arm around one of his players is embossed into the medal. The inscription reads as follows: "Coach Of The Year Award 1949." "In recognition of his kill as a football teacher, his sportsmanship, achievement in competition, influence for the welfare of football, and ideal relationship to his players, this plaque is presented to Charles B. Wilkinson University Of Oklahoma by Scrips-Howard Newspapers"
