1949 Joe DiMaggio New York Yankees Photo-Matched Signed Game Used Bat - Possible Photo-Matches to World Series (Resolution Photomatching LOA & PSA GU 9 LOA)

WORLD SERIES USE: We have found two possible photo-matches to the 1949 World Series. One is to Joe DiMaggio‚s locker on October 10th, 1949 (Getty image #515249082) - the day after the final game of the World Series. In this photo, we can see a similar line running through the top of DiMaggio‚s nameplate on the barrel. The second photo is to one of the bats that the Yankee batboy was holding while congratulating DiMaggio at home plate following his home run in Game 5. Neither of these matches are conclusive enough for us to guarantee, but given the fact that the bat is conclusively photo-matched to one week before the World Series (September 28th), it is a strong possibility that DiMaggio used it in the World Series. From a powerful period in the great career of the "Yankee Clipper", this 1949 Joe DiMaggio signed game used bat is simply remarkable. Hillerich & Bradsby model D29L Joe DiMaggio professional model bat is un-cracked and shows evidence of outstanding use. Many ball marks and ball stich impressions are visible on the left barrel. Cleat marks are visible on the barrel as well as blue bat rack streaks. Model number (D29L) is stamped into the knob and Joe DiMaggio‚s facsimile signature is noticed on the barrel. From the 1949 labeling period, this ash bat is 35.75" long, weighs 35.3 ounces and received Hillerich & Bradsby‚s standard finish. Upon closer inspection you‚ll notice the subject bat is branded with the very rare and first version of "Reg.U.S.PAT.OFF." under the center brand. Resolution Photomatching and PSA have both photo-matched this bat to September 28th, 1949, one week prior to the World Series where the Yankees faced the Brooklyn Dodgers. Although we have no evidence, it is highly possible that DiMaggio used this fine bat in the World Series that October. Vintage signed on barrel in black, this bat has everything going for it and presents tremendously. Comes with Resolution Photomatching LOA, PSA GU 9 LOA and Beckett LOA.
