1949 San Francisco Seals Tour of Japan Presentation Album
This book was created with loving respect by a Japanese artist addressed to Mr. Joseph C. Spring and dated 1949 with calligraphy throughout. The book begins with a two-page spread vintage panoramic photo with great resolution and detail of the Seals game with Lefty O'Doul at the Korakuen Stadium (4x20"). There is a wonderful hand-drawn schematic with specs of the stadium as well as an actual paper foldout map of the stadium we have not seen. There are other photographs of the game (6), other hand-drawn artwork, and many rare clippings about the tour from English speaking newspapers "Mainnichi" and "Nippon Times." All are very neatly placed and folded in. Professionally made book is signed with the names of the photographer and editor. It measures 13x14", is 32 pages, and the condition is EX. Only one made, literally one-of-a-kind.
