1950s St. Louis Cardinals Uniform

1950s St. Louis Cardinals Uniform

Red Schoendienst cannot recall if this vintage late '50s Cardinals home uniform in his possession originated from the team's 50th Anniversary Game, but based on the tagging, it dates from around 1958 (Red was playing for Milwaukee at the time), the same era as the Cardinals' 50th Anniversary All-Star Team. The 1946-style jersey features Rawling 1950s tags, Rawlings size 42 tag on the front tail along with "SCHOENDIENST" sewn in. The number 2 is on the back and Red signed the front. The pants also have a Rawlings tag and are size 36 with "SCHOENDIENST 1946" sewn in. Also included are matching belt, stirrups and cap, all by Rawlings. The entire ensemble is in fine shape.
