1952 Num Num Cleveland Indians Complete Set with Rare Bob Kennedy - PSA and SGC
Distributed within packages of Num Num snack foods were a set of 20 Cleveland Indians players. Each card had a 1" tab at the bottom, with player name and small bio but also prompted young baseball fans to "Save these tabs" to redeem for a signed baseball of your favorite Indians player. Since the company didn't want to ship out thousands of signed baseballs (and sell more potato chips and pretzels), they distributed #16 Bob Kennedy in limited quantities, similar to candy card scams of the 1930s. This is a complete set of the 20 cards, most with the original tabs. A total of 13 cards have been graded by SGC, with two PSA graded examples, with the balance ungraded and mostly without tabs. There is one extra card, #7 Garcia (no tab). Includes: SGC Graded - 13 cards w/#1 Brissie (50 VG/EX 4), 3 Tebbetts (50 VG/EX 4), 4 Lemon (60 EX 5), 5 Feller (40 VG 3), 7 Garcia (20 FR 1.5), 8 Gromek (50 VG/EX 4), 9 Chakales (40 VG 3), 12 Easter (60 EX 5), 13 Boone (40 VG 3), 15 Mitchell (70 EX+ 5.5), 17 Simpson (30 GOOD 2), 18 Doby (10 POOR 1) and 19 Jones (40 VG 3). PSA Graded - 2 cards w/#14 Avila (VG-EX 4 MK) and 16 Kennedy (AUTHENTIC, no tab). Ungraded (no tabs unless noted) - 6 cards w/#2 Hegan (VG/EX, with tab), 6 Wynn (EX/MT), 7 Garcia (EX/MT), 10 Rosen (EX/MT), 11 Rozek (VG/EX) and 20 Lopez (EX/MT). Very tough regional food issue set to complete.
