1958 "The Narcotic Story" Movie Poster

1958 "The Narcotic Story" Movie Poster

Released in 1958, "The Narcotic Story" was a semi-documentary showing how drug dealers lured small town teenagers into drug use and prostitution, and how the police respond. That it began as an actual police training film with officers playing all the characters does nothing to diminish its status as a hilarious "camp" treasure, in the mold of "Reefer Madness" and "Cocaine Fiends" of the late 1930's. Starlet Darlene Hendricks went on to further triumph as the nurse in "X-15" (1961) while the other players surely achieved distinguished careers in law enforcement. This vintage movie poster measures 28" x 41" and features a central graphic of a scantily clad young woman clinging painfully to a hypodermic needle while others look on indifferently, and tells how the movie "Strips the Gloss and Mystery from the Sordid Depravity of the Living Death!" with "Scene after scalding scene Never before depicted...". Nice overall condition with only a small tear and a couple of chips in the margin along the bottom edge.
