1958 World's Fair in Belgium Wire Photos (44)

1958 World's Fair in Belgium Wire Photos (44)

The symbol for 1958 World's Fair in Brussels was the Atomium, a spectacular building created to look like the atomic structure of a metal and house observation areas, cafes and exhibition halls. Some of the best wire photos in this lot of (44) from the 1958 World's Fair are of this amazing structure. Also notable, a massive, plastic roof for the American Pavilion, at the time the largest of its kind ever built, is photographed from the air as it was laid out in a Manchester, NH airfield, looking quite like a crop circle from an alien visitation. There are many stunning images in this collection that includes wire photos with caption sheets affixed to versos and front captions. A small percentage of the photos have minor spotting or editing marks, with the majority being NM/MT images. Sizes range from 7x9" to 85. x 11".
