1961-63 Neil Leifer + Sports Illustrated Photographs (35)
These marvelous images were created by famed photographer Neil Leifer and others for Sports Illustrated at the peak of their powers. Huge, double weight prints average 9x13" and each is stamped with detailed info including names of the photographers, plus Sports Illustrated on verso. Neil Leifer (21): Incredible images by this master lensman, whose work is gravely undervalued in the hobby. All but three are from the NY Giants defeating the Eagles, 28-24, at Franklin Field in an Eastern Conference Showdown on 12/10/61. Stars images include Sonny Jurgenson, who broke the single-season passing record that year, and Charlie Connerly’s last hurrah. Great Photographers (14): Best of all is classic 1961 Jerry West dribbling, similar to the NBA logo.
