1961 NL All-Star Team Signed Baseball
Godly. How else to describe this horsehide signed by members of the ’61 NL All-Star squad that scored 2 in the bottom of the 10th to win 5-4 at "Wind"-lestick Park, the 1st of that year’s 2 Midsummer Classics – on a Roberto Clemente hit that scored Willie Mays. Godly, indeed. While the Clemente signature on the ONL (Giles) ball is secretarial – as are those of Hank Aaron & Eddie Mathews – all the other 22 are real as rain, including Mays, fellow HOFers Koufax, Musial, Spahn & F. Robinson, as well as manager Danny Murtaugh, the recently deceased Gene Mauch (coach), Wills, Boyer, White, Roseboro, Face, Burgess, Mahaffey, Kasko, Jay, Altman, Mahaffey, Miller, McCormick, etc. Sigs are a somewhat faded 6-7/10 while the ball is NRMT and virtually spotless.
