1965 Janis Joplin Five-Page Handwritten Letter
Marvelous letter with equally absorbing content is a huge five-pages in length on three separate leaves of lined notebook paper (8.5x11"). Sent to her boyfriend Peter J. de Blanc from Texas, it comes with original envelope in her hand. In black ink, there is great detail on their relationship and that she is "in a very bad mood" and is yelling at "everyone all weekend" because she did not "hear from you". Very "Sixties", it speaks of the "college people" wearing madras clothing, her grades in college, and eating a chicken salad sandwich (shades of Five Easy Pieces). Signed "I love you XXXXX Janis." She has also written her name "Janis!" within the text of the letter, hence it is signed twice. Ink is Mint, letter is folded and o/w EX.
