Framed poster advertisement for Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin on vocals at Selland Arena, April 19, 1968. Janis graced this ever-changing music factory with her presence for 2? years after her debut with them at the Avalon Ballroom June 10, 1966 in San Francisco. In the same frame is Janis’ signature with return address handwritten on a mailing envelope. The address, 3130 Lombardy, is her home address in Port Arthur, Texas where she was born and raised. Many attribute her tumultuous lifestyle to her experiences there; the passionate fire in her singing voice a result of desperate emotion and inner conflict. Poster is adorned with psychedelic colors and Janis Joplin’s image with pained smile. Mint condition.
