Two-page reflective letter to then-boyfriend Peter de Blanc written in 1965, two years before her breakthrough performance at the Monterey Pop Festival, a different Janis a studious homebody, battling demons that eventually claimed her life. In love, insecure, unsure about the future of the relationship, she writes “Wow Peter, please write to me, tell me what our plans are. I don’t know what to think anymore…I am to stay here or what? I don’t understand. Please tell me what we’re doing when we’re going to be together? Wow I really miss you I want to be around you. You know? She ends the letter “I love you Janis.” Handwritten letter and envelope addressed to Peter in New York from Port Arthur her hometown. Written black felt tip on plain stationery, letter is EX-MT overall. This is a chance to own a piece of her heart.
