1966 Grateful Dead Concert Handbill (8"x11")

1966 Grateful Dead Concert Handbill (8"x11")

Along with the Family Dog series of posters, handbills and postcards, Bill Graham, the first to recognize the significance and collectibility of these historic works of art, promoted a long running series of concerts that produced an astounding array of poster art by many of the greatest of the San Francisco artists including Wes Wilson, Mouse and Kelley, Rick Griffin and Victor Moscoso, with several other artists creating some of the later works in the series. The hardest to accumulate of the three main collections by far remains the Family Dog - Avalons which is why we are proud to offer this rare FD#26 specimen. Created for two of the aforementioned Avalon shows (September 16 &17 1966), the 8"x11" handbill exhibits an ultra clean surface, vibrant color and incredibly sharp graphics. Created by artist Mouse/Studio 66 it is NRMT condition. Double matted and framed to 14"x17".
