Navy blue New York Yankees cap was worn by Mantle in the 1967 regular season. Presented to Carl “DiMag” DeFilipo, right out of Mickey’s locker on September 1, 1968 along with the jersey offered in this same sale. His immortal #7 is marked on the underside of the bill in vintage black marker. Liner of the bill is halved and has been professionally retired, where Mickey folded and stuffed it into his back pocket! Tim McAuliffe manufacture with tag on the inside. The inner leather band has been signed and inscribed by Mantle, "This is my 1967 cap: Mickey Mantle." This cap was offered in Lelands first ever live auction back in 1991 and was signed and authenticated by Mickey Mantle himself at a press conference at his Manhattan restaurant. Bottom side of the bill shows considerable wear to the outer lining from where it was handled by the Mick, otherwise in beautiful display condition. From the Charlie Sheen Collection.
