1972-73 Gene Peacosh First Year WHA New York Raiders Game Worn Jersey
The “unicorn” of uniforms. Without a doubt, the rarest and most desirable jersey from the Seventies… of any given league. Gene Peacosh’s white dureen New York Raiders jersey is in 100% original condition, from the individual directly-applied letters forming his surname to the intricately embroidered front crest. Tie neck style with washing instructions tag and 46 size tag above the Gerry Cosby label. Displays obvious game use throughout with two stitched team repairs. Nothing unsightly, in perfect collectible condition. Extremely scarce as most of these first year Raiders uniforms were stripped of their crests and reused the following season in New Jersey with the Knights and then refurbished once more after the move to San Diego. One of only a few known examples to have survived the recycler’s thread and needle. Destined to be the showpiece of a grand collection.
