1972 All-Star Game Bat

1972 All-Star Game Bat

Red Schoendienst helped coach the Senior Circuit to a thrilling, 4-3 victory over the American League at the 1972 All-Star Game in Atlanta, and this special bat was given to him for the exhibition. It shows no use but has his number "2" on the knob and is a model C117L. The Hall of Famer - who skippered his Cardinals to the World Series title five years earlier - signed the bat in 9/10 blue Sharpie on the barrel. Joe Morgan's "walk-off" single in the 10th inning sent the fans home with a memory that would last a lifetime.
