1972 Issac Hayes Grammy Award & Plaque

1972 Issac Hayes Grammy Award & Plaque

Offered is the Grammy from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences for “Best Pop Instrumental Performance” presented to Isaac Hays for his work in “Black Moses” in 1972, only one year after he received an Academy for the “Theme for ‘Shaft’. The wooden base (5x5”) is affixed with an engraved gold plate that reads, “National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Isaac Hayes Best Pop Instrumental Performance with Vocal Coloring - 1972 ‘Black Moses’”. Above is the ever-recognizable phonograph complete in every detail down to the horn. Stands 6” tall. EX. With it comes the 8.5x10.5" nomination certificate given to Hayes prior to him receiving the award. Mounted on a wooden plaque, it has remained EX-MT in terms of condition. A rare opportunity to own the very award that marked one of the most important moments in the career of a pioneer and a visionary, a man whose solo career predated not only the disco era but also the evolution of rap. Both items come directly from Isaac Hayes.
