1973-74 Al Karlander New England Whalers WHA Game Worn Jersey
After the New England Whalers chose him in the WHA General Player Draft in 1972 and promised more than a utility role, Karlander switched from the NHL to the upstart WHA. He scored 61 points in 1973-74 when he was thrust into more of an offensive role with the Whalers while wearing this jersey. A home, white jersey with the large harpoon style crest on the front. Gerry Cosby tag in the collar along with a size 46 tag affixed to the left of the Cosby tag. Blood stains below the crest and sweat staining on the front below the collar. Stick marks through the numbers on the left sleeve. Six total repairs with one on the left cuff, two on the front left side, one on the back right side, and two on the back left side. Scuffs and burns throughout the jersey. Paint transfers on the back hem. Another Whale of a jersey!
