1974 Gordie Howe Team Canada Game Worn Jersey
Gordon Howe is regarded by many as the greatest player ever to play the game. Gordie's idea of a great game included a goal, a fight and a good elbow. Howe and Bobby Hull led their country's team against the Soviet National squad during the 1974 WHA International Series. Here is the heavy red knit uniform worn by Gordie as a member of Team Canada. Maska tag in collar black and gold. Canada runs diagonally down front with a crude "A" on the chest above the white maple leaf with "74" in red. Everything is sewn on. "International" in individually applied white letters across the back shoulders. Howe's fabled number "9" sewn on back and arms. Signed inside on the numbers "Gordon Howe". Light wear with some runs and interior pilling. Original tie neck. Originally obtained from an owner of the WHA Oilers and organizer of WHA 1974 International Series. It's not often that a genuine Howe sweater hits the market.
