The Denver Spurs of the CHL donned Giesler-Jorgen tagged durene jerseys in the 1974-75 season. They were then recycled to the WHA’s Denver Spurs for the beginning of the 1975-76 season. Before the Spurs skated in their customary Wilson and BH Sport tagged jerseys, they donned recycled Giesler-Jorgen tagged jerseys. Evidenced by the two different nameplates being removed on this jersey, you can be rest assured that is was worn in the WHA. The first style of the WHA Denver Spurs is offered here in this lot. Don Bergeson's #12 jersey with the nameplate removed is all original with a “Giesler-Jorgen Sporting Goods, Clayton, Mo.” rectangular tag in the neck and washing instructions tag in the hem. Two separate nameplates have been removed from the back with four team repairs sewing up holes created from nameplate removal. Countless stick marks all over the front and sleeves. Blue and orange paint transfers on the sleeve and more orange on the back. Long elastic clip-style fight strap. Solid pilling inside both sleeves. Giddy-Up!
