1976 Guy Lafleur Canada Game Worn Jersey
To this day, Guy Lafleur cherishes the memories of his involvement as a representative of Canada in the 1976 and 1981 Canada Cup tournaments. This substantial white knit sweater, worn by Guy at the beginning of the series is decorated in red rubberized paint with the demi-Leaf "Canada" logo, nameplate and "10" on the back and sleeves. AK manufacturers tag in the collar, size 44 (measures identical to the red shirt we sold in the Guy Lafleur auction). Displays light wear with a number of red paint marks and a couple of small black and blue rubs. Areas of interior pilling match those on the shirt from Lafleur's collection. This jersey is from the first set of whites worn earlier in the tournament and pre-tournament exhibition games. Jerseys from the second set were given to Czech players in the famous exchange at the end of the last game. Some water staining at the bottom hem and one cuff. From the collection of a former CCM team rep who supplied sticks and equipment to Team Canada with his letter detailing the history of the shirt.
