1979-80 Dave Taylor Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey
Don't let the elegant crown logo fool you. This jersey belonged to a grinder of the highest order. The L.A. Kings' Dave Taylor was neither fancy nor graceful, but he was a critical cog in the Kings' famed Triple Crown line with Marcel Dionne and Charlie Simmer. Game-worn road purple poly mesh with gold numerals and letters from Goodman & Sons (upside-down tag on the inside shirt tail) bears the scars of a scrapper like Taylor despite its darker hue. Is that blood we see next to his "18" on the back, where the stitches are? Pushing and pulling led to a few seam tears and holes, too. Taylor, who repelled checks and dished out plenty of his own, played great defense for an offensive player who scored 1,069 points in 1,111 games. No. 18 has been retired, but he goes to the arena as the Kings' GM.
