1979-80 Edmonton Vintage Signed Media Guide
Edmonton Oilers 1979-80 media guide gushes dozens of signatures from a budding dynasty, with not one but two from Wayne Gretzky, both on the cover he shares with goalie Dave Dryden and on his profile page. At the time, the Great One was just 18 yet he notched his first-ever 50-goal season and led the club to their first Stanley Cup playoffs. While they were swept by the Flyers, their appearance was a harbinger of things to come in the '80s. Other signatures include coach Glenn Sather, Colin Campbell, Doug Hicks, Pat Price, Blair McDonald, Dave Semenko -- and in the section given to the team's prospects, Kevin Lowe and Mark Messier (pictured with long blonde hair!) Signatures are NRMT as is the guide, with nary a mark either on the cover or inside pages.
