1982 Derek Jeter Little League Collection Including Team Signed Baseball, Team Photo, & Trophy
Early Derek Jeter memorabilia comprises this phenomenal lot which includes a baseball an eight-year-old Jeter signed with nine of his little league teammates back in 1982. They then presented it to their manager, Donald Brown, after he had guided the team to an undefeated season. The ball - in an original custom holder - shows toning and use and is signed in blue ballpoint pen. The bold Jeter signature grades 8/10 while the others average 7/8 out of 10. The trophy is NRMT and is exactly the kind Derek would have received. It features the following wording on the base: "OAKWOOD LITTLE LEAGUE 1982 MINOR LEAGUE CHAMPS." The team photo is NRMT and reveals a very, very young Jeter. The contents of this lot were acquired from the manager, Brown, so it is an iron-clad provenance. That eight-year-old boy dreamed of playing shortstop for the New York Yankees, and he is a prime example of the fact that dreams do sometimes come true.
