1984 Steve Largent Game Worn and Signed Jersey
The diminutive but elusive Steve Largent ran pass routes with the dexterity of a ballet dancer, finding holes is zone defenses like gold doubloons. When he retired after a 14-year career in 1989 he held records for pass receptions (819), yardage (13,089) and TDs (100), and though these marks have since been broken his 8 1,000-yard seasons ranks second to Jerry Rice's 12. He also caught a pass in 177 consecutive games. Largent, who played at Oklahoma, subsequently won a congressional seat in the state in 1994 and briefly was in the running to become Speaker of the House in 1998. Today he heads the wireless communications trade association. Who knows, one day he may be President. The white Seattle Seahawks game-used home jersey is made, appropriately, from a material called fish net. "80" in blue tackle twill on front, back and both shoulders, "Largent" across upper back. Blue and green trimming with Seahwaks logo on each shoulder. All proper tags. Front left tail tag is "Medalist Sand-Knit" with size "42" and small "84" tag. Largent put his signature on the right shoulder top and wrote "Willie: God Bless, Steve Largent" on the back right shoulder next to his name on the jersey, in black sharpie. Signatures rate 8/10.
