1991-92 Mario Lemieux Pittsburgh Penguins Video Matched 3-Patch Game Worn Jersey
Simply put, this next offering can only be described as the best of the best. A three-patch, game worn Mario Lemieux jersey from the Penguins second of back-to-back Stanley Cup Championship seasons. Fine use inside and out, with stick and board marks on the exterior, matched with nice pilling along the inside of the sleeves near the elbows and cuffs. Even better though are the astonishing eleven team repairs that can be found along the sleeves. The Maska Ultrafil tag in collar is written with "66" in faded red marker and rests next to a size 54 fly tag. On front is the skating Penguins crest with his Captain's "C" stitched to the left breast. On back is "Lemieux" sewn on matching white nameplate. Below is his number "66", which again appears on both sleeves, all in tackle twill. In addition, there is a "Badger" patch (in memory of Coach “Badger” Bob Johnson who passed away on November 26, 1991) on left shoulder, the Penguins "25th Anniversary" patch on the right shoulder, and finally an NHL "75th Anniversary” patch on the right breast. To top it off, this Mario Lemieux jersey has been conclusively video matched to a November 27, 1991 game vs. New Jersey - the very game in which the Penguins honored Coach Johnson with a candle-light memorial before the game and added the Badger patch to the left shoulder. You can clearly see a now repaired hole in the white stripe on Lemieux’s left sleeve at multiple times throughout the game. A large team repair now distinctly mends the gaping hole. Matching marks can also be found in the game footage on the front of Lemieux’s jersey. A DVD copy of the game will be included with this lot. Undoubtedly, one of the best you will ever find! Magnificent!
