2004 Orlando Pace Game Worn Rams Helmet
The curling horns are an apt design for the helmet of Rams tackle Orlando Pace, who butted heads with this one in the 2004 season. Obtained from a team source, the helmet has Pace's plastic name tag inside, above the left ear hole. American flag and NFL decals are adhered to the back. The weight of the Riddell full-cage surpasses that of a medium-sized dog. It takes a big man to support this headgear, and the 6-7, 325-pound Pace qualifies. Cushions inside are all intact, and the front pad is flecked with Pace's brow sweat. The gold and blue paint job still sparkles under stadium lights, but a close look reveals game nicks, scratches and smudges. Small-print disclaimer is enlightening and frightening. Pace, a six-time Pro Bowl pick, is one of the game's highest-paid linemen, having anchored the protection that made the Rams an offensive juggernaut and Super Bowl champion this decade.
