2007 Civil Rights Game-Worn Jersey, Cap and Presentational Piece

2007 Civil Rights Game-Worn Jersey, Cap and Presentational Piece

The "Civil Rights Game" originated at the end of 2007 Spring Training in Memphis. Within two years, it had evolved into a regular-season major league game. This particular lot is an excellent keepsake from that very first event, as Red Shoendienst of the Redbirds wore the jersey and cap while coaching that exhibition contest vs. the Cleveland Indians. The cap has "2" written in marker under the brim, while the white home jersey displays "ST. LOUIS" on the front and "2" on the back. There is Majestic size 50 tagging on the front tail and 0062 tag inside. There is a Civil Rights Game patch on the left sleeve and the jersey is signed by Schoendienst on the front. Also included in the lot are figural spikes in a Civil Rights Game box, an item presented to players and coaches who took part in the game.
