Sometimes Louis' pleas for his favorite lip salve could border on the desperate. In this letter he writes, "Pay the expences [sic] for the postage and mail it ot me in a personal letter, and I will send it to you, whatever the duties or the postal may cost. Do you understand?" His signature "Louis Armstrong" in blue pen is 8/10. The paper is irregular across the top, having been ripped from a larger sheet and there an image of him blowing the trumpet that was taped to the letter. VG-EX.
