Aboard an Austrian Airlines plane en route to a concert tour of Germany, Louis dashed off this letter along with a check for German 100 marks to be sent to his friend Erich Kauffmann, who manufactured the lip salve Louis swore by. The money was for a case of the stuff, to be delivered to his hotel room in Hamburg. 12 x 16" in EX condition with the original envelope. Writing is in green pen and the signature is a good 9.
