910's Beer Bottle from bottling works owned by George Ruth

This was not from George Ruth's bar in Baltimore, as stated in our catalog. It was from a bottling works in Staten Island owned by George Ruth
One of two specimens known from the true "birthplace" of the Sultan of Swat. This 9.5" tall bottle was used in the bar owned by Babe Ruth's father, George. It is embossed, "Staten Island Bottling Company… Baltimore MD…George Ruth's Propr…Trade Mark Registered." In the center is a superb "GR" crest. Below, "This Bottle Not To Be Sold" (hence the rarity). The look is ancient. The story is well known. Ruth's father owned the bar and really could not --or would not-- handle his own son. He then banished him to St. Mary's Industrial School where he learned to play. The Babe would return to the bar during his days with the Boston Red Sox. There is, of course, the famous photograph of Ruth behind the bar of this establishment with his father, them looking more like twins than father and son. The only other known bottle was from the Barry Halper Collection. Photos and the two known bottles are the only other relics that remain from this famed establishment. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
