Babe Ruth 1935 State Income Tax Return - Last Year As Player

Babe Ruth 1935 State Income Tax Return - Last Year As Player

In the hand of Joe Bihler, right hand man to Babe Ruth and his agent Christy Walsh comes this Duplicate 1935 New York State Income Tax return. Turns out that the Babe was a good husband, he took care of his wife Claire and his daughter and has them both listed as dependents along with his mother-in-law. Not sure if there's a Ralph Kramden element to this but we doubt it. You'll also notice that his business manager and secretary cost him a cool $10,000 for their services, which sounds kind of steep for the time. Perhaps he paid a little extra for some "creative accounting."From the estate of Joe Bihler, the right hand man of Babe Ruth's agent Christy Walsh and in turn Ruth himself.
