Babe Ruth 700th Home Run Game Ticket Stub & Program

Babe Ruth 700th Home Run Game Ticket Stub & Program

The date of Babe Ruth’s milestone 700th home run carries as much weight in baseball as a date printed in an American history book. Ruth’s homer off of Tommy Bridges in Detroit’s Navin Field back on July 13, 1934 not only gave New York a 4-2 victory over the Tigers, but also put the Yanks back into first place in the AL. . The purple stub (EX) for Detroit’s Navin Field, measuring 1.5x3”, is for the Lower Deck section 5, row B, seat 7. Priced at $1.40, little did the person who saved these game souvenirs know that they would someday be regarded as superb and valuable pieces of baseball history. They were however savvy enough to realize that they were witnessing history in the making. Program from that game is scored in pencil. Tri-fold measures 6x9” when closed. Some creasing and light foxing. VG+.
