Babe Ruth Astride "King Jess" Christmas Card

Babe Ruth Astride "King Jess" Christmas Card

On November 9, 1922, lawyer John M. Kelley bet famous circus rider May Wirth she could not ride his famously ill-tempered "King Jess". Babe Ruth bet on Wirth and when she succeeded, he was one of the few celebrities on hand who attempted the feat for himself. A few weeks later Kelly would send out this tempting Christmas card. The FIRST we have seen. Apart from a tiny hole, the card is in EX condition.
