Babe Ruth "Most Famous Home Run Slugger" Signature
In 1941 Lenore France of the University of Illinois sent this 8.5x4" piece of letter writing paper with the typed legend, "The Signature of GEORGE HERMAN (Babe) RUTH, the most famous hone-run slugger of all time and an outfielder with the New York Yankee Baseball Team." [Capitalized words are in red.] He signed on the furnished typed line below with the Mint-est black "Babe Ruth" signature we have seen in a long time. The paper itself has neat binder holes with reinforcements and comes with its original envelope postmarked August 28, 1941 New York, New York. Lenore even added to the envelope, "Babe Ruth's Signature." This is more like a letter than just a signature.
