Babe Ruth Returns To NY To Coach The Dodgers Original Wire Photo (1938)
Rare photo of Ruth in a Dodgers uniform. This original 7" x 9" Acme wire photo dates to June 19, 1938. The original caption sheet is taped to the verso and proclaims: "Babe Ruth Wallops One Out As He Returns to Baseball." Print is in EX condition with a small tear along the bottom edge and a very subtle newspaper artist enhancement outlining the Babe's swinging pose visible. The Bambino was making his debut as a coach for the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field after having been out of baseball since 1935.
