Babe Ruth Signed 3"x5" Index Card

Babe Ruth Signed 3"x5" Index Card

Babe Ruth was larger than life, and his signature is just as stately, as evidenced here, written in black fountain ink and graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. It is signed on the lined side, and the card itself is EX-MT to NRMT. Comes with the original mailing envelope that Ruth used to send this back to the collector in 1936. Originally a standout pitcher with the Boston Red Sox, Ruth was famously sold to the Yankees and blossomed into the biggest star the game has ever seen. Ruth set career records for home runs (714), slugging percentage (.690), runs batted in (2,217), and on-base plus slugging (1.164). Until his emergence, home runs over the fence were few and far between. Now, they are the norm. The "Sultan of Swat" was responsible for adding that facet to the game and, as a result, attracting legions of fans who bought tickets expressly to witness his towering blasts.
