Babe Ruth Signed World's Fair Letter to Mel Allen
Letter dated August 23, 1939, addressed to Mel Allen with regards to the 1939 Worlds Fair is beautifully signed in perfect black fountain ink by Babe Ruth (grades "10"). Framed together with original mailing envelope, the letter reads in part: "Dear Mel: The World's Fair will hold a SPORTS WRITERS' FIELD DAY for BOYS Saturday morning, September 2 and the boys have asked me to invite you to be a Judge... I consider you an expert on baseball; I understand you are a member of the World's Fair Sports Committee and I know you are just as anxious as I am to help the growing generation of American boys." TLS is on "Babe Ruth, New York" letterhead and is apparent NRMT. Framed display measures 10x17".
