Bobby Hutton’s Black Panther Funeral (1968)

The 16-year old Hutton was the first to join the newly formed Black Panther Party. On 6th April, 1968 eight BPP members, including Hutton, Eldridge Cleaver and David Hilliard, were ambushed by police and trapped in a basement. After tear gas was thrown in Hutton surrendered stripped to his underwear to show he was carrying no weapons. With hands in the air, he was shot twelve times by police and killed instantly. Over 2,000 people attended his funeral at the Ephesians Church of God in Berkeley, California on 12th April, 1968. The murder pf Bobby Hutton incensed the party and eventually made them stronger. 12x8", EX+.
