This is the final home plate used by the both Cardinals and the other National League teams during Busch Stadium’s final season of 2005. Five-sided, 17” x 8 1/2” x 8 1/2” x 12” x 12” cut to a point at rear. That’s a lot of numbers to describe that special piece of real estate that pitchers and batters have been battling over for more than a hundred years. This home plate was fought over by the best the NL had to offer. Special Note: The Final Home Plate Will Be Used On “Opening Day- 2006” in the new Busch Stadium and then removed after the first homestand in 2006 to be delivered to the winning bidder of this prized piece of memorabilia. (Estimate $10,000 - $15,000)
