Carl Furillo Baseball Wire Photos (16)

Carl Furillo Baseball Wire Photos (16)

Carl Furillo was a Dodger favorite in the 1950's and for good reason. He consistently put up hitting and fielding performances that ranked him among the best in the National League. This group of (16) wire photos capture Furillo's successes and hammy personality. (Funny image shows him spending some quality time with a parrot during spring training!) Later, we see the pain of his release from the Dodger franchise in '59, which spurned a bitter lawsuit and, Furillo claims, his being blackballed from baseball coaching and managing. Dated from 1949 to 1975 5 x 9 to 8 x 11". The condition of the lot ranges from VG to MT, with most on the better end.
