Carole Lombard Signed Studio Photograph to Mickey Cochrane

Carole Lombard Signed Studio Photograph to Mickey Cochrane

A simply stunning 1930s studio photo of one of the silver screen's first starlets and personalized to one of baseball's biggest stars of the period. Framed and matted in an 11" x 14" format, the photo of the beauty has a slight bit of foxing but appears to be in EX condition. It is signed by Lombard in 7.5/10 fountain ink: "To Mickey Cochrane With the truest of best wishes that the Tigers will always be winners. Carol Lombard." This is a truly incredible piece and one of the finest Lombard-signed photos that money can buy. A staple in the screwball comedies of the 1930s, Lombard died tragically in a plane crash in 1942 at the age of 33, while the Hall of Fame Catcher Cochrane enjoyed a 13-year Hall of Fame playing career with the Philadelphia A's and Detroit Tigers, capturing two American League MVPs and playing for three World Series champions.
