Mickey Cochrane Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Plaque
Back before the Baseball Hall of Fame presented its inductees with a metal casting of their Hall of Fame plaque, they received framed plaque photos such as this one awarded to Mickey Cochrane upon his induction in 1947. The original frame has been replaced, but the print of the plaque and leather matte is original, the latter of which is stamped with gold lettering: "National Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY." Measuring 9,5" x 12.5", it is in EX-MT condition. A native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Cochrane played 13 seasons in the majors with the Philadelphia Athletics and Detroit Tigers between 1925 and 1937, batting a spectacular .320 while capturing a pair of MVP awards and leading his teams to three World Series titles.
