Casey Stengel 1922 Tour of Japan Promotional Photo
Vintage 8x10" photo of Casey Stengel dates from his 1922 tour of Japan as part of the Hunter All-American Stars. That year, the Hunter All-Americans became the first team of Major Leaguers to lose to a Japanese team. Stengel is wearing an old fashioned fielding glove ready to catch a ball. Excellent contrast and comes from the George Kelly Estate. It was likely a promotional photo given only to players and VIP's. NRMT.
