Circa 1890 Wall Street New York Photograph

Vintage mounted photo picturing Wall Street in New York, circa 1890. The haunting photo pictures a near-desolate thoroughfare, with just two people seen in the distance. Clearly visible in this image are the statue of George Washington, which sits in front of Federal Hall, and Trinity Church. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a handwritten pencil notation that reads “Wall St. looking West from Wm. St. 1890.” The crystal-clear photo (7.25" x 9.25”) displays light chipping and creases along the edges and is otherwise in Excellent condition. It has been affixed to a thick cardboard mount of equal dimensions. Though this is clearly a vintage photo, because it has been mounted, PSA will not accept it for evaluation, therefore, no guarantee can be made regarding a specific Type designation. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
